Traditional fishing in Guatemala’s Pacific waters

In addition to sail fishing in Guatemala’s Pacific waters in superbly equipped yachts we also offer a new overnight fishing experience with traditional fishermen in the Pacific Coast. Traditional fishermen go fishing at night, as fish metabolism is slower and they cannot see the nets, but also to take the fish to market to sell them fresh early the following morning. Spend the night at sea with our experienced traditional fishermen and use nets and lines with up to 150 hooks on this adventure. This is a new adventure organized by our company only with the local traditional fishermen of Puerto de San Jose, coordinated by our local guide Samuel Ubeda.

You may also choose to include the additional support of a yacht (Drop It or Kalypso) to come with you and spend the night at sea for additional comfort. Of course, spending the night at sea and visiting a local fisherman's house, while experiencing this unique side of Guatemala firsthand, is something very few people have done before, but it is fast becoming a family favorite and especially the top father & son outing of choice.

The local fishermen in Puerto de San Jose will not only share this one-of-a-kind fishing experience at sea with you, they have also agreed to welcome you in their homes and share their simple lifestyle with you, of which they are very proud. Samuel and his crew will warmly welcome you to their humble dwellings to enjoy your catch in delicious preparations with their families before bidding you farewell. You may continue to a marvelous whale- watching experience after your traditional fishing adventure at sea.
