Day 1

At 9:30 a.m. (check in time 8 a.m. at the bus station) departure from Chetumal to Flores, in the Peten province in Northern Guatemala using a collective bus transfer. Brief stop in El Remate for a private onward transfer to the Tikal National Park.

Check in at the Tikal Inn or Jungle Lodge. Dinner on your own account.

Tikal's Temple V stairway: you may climb this temple using the lateral wooden stairwell. The view of Tikal's Grand Plaza from the top of Temple V is something not to be missed if you spend at least an afternoon at Tikal...

Day 2

After breakfast at your hotel you will enjoy a guided tour with a professional guide, who will share interesting information with you about the ancient Maya civilization. Lunch included at your hotel, without beverages. Free afternoon on your own to see more of the site on your own and visit the site museum at TIKAL. Overnight at the Tikal Inn or Jungle Lodge.

Day 3

Breakfast included at your hotel. Free morning on your own or you may add a Tikal sunrise tour or the Canopy Tour. You may also add a visit to the site of Yaxha, southeast of Tikal. Free afternoon in Tikal. Overnight at the Tikal Inn or Jungle Lodge.

Alternatively, if you would like to spend the last night in Flores: take a 3 p.m. transfer out of Tikal to Flores (included). Free afternoon on your own to visit the unique city of Flores, which lays on an island on Lake Peten Itza. Lodging in Flores.

Day 4

Packed breakfast to go if you spent the previous night in Tikal. Be ready to start from Tikal at 6:30 a.m. with private ground transportation to El Remate bus stop to take the bus coming from Flores.

Alternatively, if you spent the previous night in Flores, your driver will pick you up directly at your hotel's doorstep between 7:15 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. and take you all the way to Chetumal, where you will arrive at 5 p.m. local time.

Tikal is the largest excavated site in the American continent. It is Guatemala's most famous cultural and natural preserve. Tikal possesses a certain magic... Like all puzzles without answers it fascinates everyone and we dare say... Tikal is so irresistible once you are here, you'll find yourself wanting to stay just a little longer!

This majestic archaeological gem comprises 222 square miles of jungle all around the ceremonial center. It took the University of Pennsylvania 13 years to uncover about 10 square miles of structures at Tikal. However, much of it is still left to be unearthed. So, do take some advice... Don't try to see all of Tikal in one day, even if you are in excellent shape!.

Please note that your park entrance fees are not included on any day during your stay.

NOTE: For travelers taking the 2 night in Tikal and 1 night in Flores option your ground transportation from Tikal to Flores is at 3 p.m. Breakfast in Flores is not included. Our driver will look for you at your Flores hotel. Please be ready at 6:45 a.m. for your transfer by bus to Chetumal. Please note that this time may vary a little as it is a collective transfer and there are other travelers taking this bus too.

Tikal is a sanctuary and a ceremonial center used until today by the descendants of the poeple who originally built the site. The use of public spaces at Tikal to celebrate ceremonies at the site is regulated and it is only the *Aj Qij* or Maya priests who may conduct ceremonies in the designated areas. Perhaps you will be lucky to "catch" a fire ceremony during your visit
